I've been thinking about doing a series of short lessons that would go from complete beginner to intermediate playing, posting a new one each week so people who can't afford to get private lessons can get something somewhat close. Like in the first video it would be really basic, learn some basic terms (i.e. frets, pick, etc.), how to read tab, and play some simple riffs like the intro to Smoke on the Water, Seven Nation Army, and Sunshine of your Love. Then in the second video I'd address powerchords and teach a simple pop-punk song, throw in some open chords every now and then, and keep building up on that until I get to stuff like finger-tapping and learning Sweet Child O' Mine in it's entirety. After that I think they could manage by themselves but I don't know if I can be bothered with this little bit of work each week. Ah well, I guess I'll think it over some more.
