The title explains the idea.

Someone posts the genre(s) that they're interested in, and users suggest bands in that area.

It appears that I am the first official Banjo player of the 123guitartabs community.

Now sit down and lemme show y'all what I can do without them amplifiers.

Well, I'm into pretty much anything, although I'm a particular fan of the -core genres ^^ If you know of any up and coming bands, or perhaps just some local bands that aren't that big yet, I'd love to hear of them! ^^

Some that I'd recommend in similar genres to those that I like:

East West Blast Test - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=95230235

Cause for Effect - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=28356692

Cue to Eclipse - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=57225828

Gates to Licide - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=183996739

The Hollow Earth Theory - http://www.myspace.com/thehollowearththeory

From the Ashes - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=3849709

I highly recomend:Zico Chain! http://www.myspace.com/zicochain
I think they currently have demos that they're working on, on their MySpace page at the moment though.

Rebel Yell! http://www.myspace.com/rockrebelyell
A local, unsigned Rockabilly/Punk band.

Gogol Bordello! http://www.myspace.com/gogolbordello
Fun folk-y music Very Happy

Kultur Shock! http://www.myspace.com/kultureshockct
Similiar to Gogol Bordello.

I also recomend Cue To Eclipse, Gates To Lidice and The Hollow Earth Theory as mentioned in Starom's post.

As for the 1970s, try New York Dolls Wink

If you're into indie I would highly recommend Metric. (As you can see in my avatar.)

They're a nice Canadian band that really got me into other music besides classic rock and blues.
